It seems Velvet Sky has not increased their prices for the new year on the Johannesburg to Durban route. It is always great to see prices staying constant over the new year rather than the usual increase. In fact, the prices since the last survey on this route, have decreased by almost R300. The bus and train prices have also decreased with Shosholoza Meyl still being the cheapest way to travel overland. I think it is safe to say the festive season rates have long gone.
The below survey looks at flight prices from Johannesburg to Durban on 3 February 2012, leaving Jo'burg between the times of 17h29 and 20h36.
