Alternatively to buying a point-to-point bus ticket, a travel pass may be booked. Booking a travel pass allows unlimited travel over a certain number of days with as many stop overs as desired (i.e. similar to the Baz Bus service).
Each fare-paying Greyhound passenger may take a maximum of 2 suitcases not exceeding thirty kilograms in total mass, and each not exceeding 30cmx80cmx60cm in dimension. Luggage is carried at own risk.
Children under 12 years of age may not travel alone on Greyhound buses.
The mission of Greyhound busses is to "maintain and expand the business by providing service of superioir (sic) quality with a personal touch to customers, ensuring the requisite rewards for all our stake holders".
Greyhound Coach Lines (Proprietary) Limited is the legal entity. Like Citiliner bus, Greyhound bus is part of the "Unitrans Passenger" operating division of Unitrans Holdings (Pty) Ltd, which in turn is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Steinhoff International Holdings Limited. The managing director of Unitrans Passenger is Nico Boshoff, and the division manager of Citiliner and Greyhound is Leon Engelbrecht. Greyhound is a member of the Southern African Bus Operators Association (SABOA).
