From 25 August to 31 August 2011, Clanwilliam will be hosting its annual Wild Flower Show. Each year in early spring, the small town and surrounds comes alive with thousands and thousands of wild flowers. The Wild Flower Show has become an insititution in the Western Cape, happening in the last week of August every year.
The purpose of the festival is actually to raise awareness for endangered flower species and to create an appreciation for indigenous vegetation in the Western Cape. Entry to the official show is R30 for adults, R25 for pensioners and R5 for kids - but if you just want to drive up for the gorgeous flower covered hills, you'll get a great show for free!
