The last survey done on this route showed the most reasonable airfares on the Johannesburg to Durban route being offered by Kulula from OR Tambo Airport. This week, flying from Lanseria Airport to Durban's King Shaka Airport on Kulula was the cheapest option offered. Shosholoza Meyl's economy train still came out on top with overland travel prices on this route. Events in Durban
On Sunday the 14th of October, the Amashova Durban Classic cycle race will take place in Kwazulu-Natal. The race is known as one of the toughest cycle races in the country and follows a 106 kilometre route similar to that of the Comrades Marathon. Competitors will start racing at the Pietermaritzburg City Hall and end at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.

We priced the cost of renting a car from King Shaka International Airport (Durban) from 21h00 on Friday the 12th of October 2012 until 13h00 on Sunday the 14th of October 2012. (Please note prices are subject to change and availability) A Kia Picanto or similar will cost R335 for the weekend (R167.50 per day), with 200 kilometres a day included.
