Velvet Sky is offering the cheapest flight to Johannesburg in this survey of Friday flight prices (higher than the cheapest, but more realistic departure times), followed by Kulula to Lanseria (probably because of the price war with, Kulula's flights to Lanseria are cheaper than to O.R. Tambo International). First Car Rental was offering car rentals for just R191/day.
Intercape's bus trip from Cape Town to Johannesburg is now the cheapest it's been in a year (the price is down by about R200!). As far as bus trips go in South Africa, Intercape is one of the best rides you're going to find - so if you were thinking of taking the bus from Cape Town to Johannesburg get in touch with them and ask for a quote on their Mainliner (the Sleepliner is a little more luxurious but it's pricier).
