Youth Day Long Weekend Flights

In this week's survey, we compared the prices of flights, trains and buses for travel from Durban to Cape Town for the long weekend which falls over Youth Day. When we checked, Mango displayed the cheapest flight with their Friday afternoon flight at R1 112 for a one way fare (prices will change). The cheapest land travel option was offered by City to City with their one way bus fare at R440 per person (prices will change). Car Trawler had the cheapest car hire rates for those wanting to have their own transport while in Cape Town.

Napier Patatfees

Take the family to the Overberg for the long weekend and visit the charming town of Napier. The annual Napier Patatfees will be taking place from the 15th to the 17th of June 2013. Enjoy the region's traditional food when you order the snoek and sweet potatoes that will be on sale all over the town. A half marathon, 10km run and a mountain bike race will form part of the exciting events taking place over the weekend. Visitors will also be able to enjoy the craft market, live music, art exhibitions, tractor shows and lots of children's entertainment.

Car Trawler is cheapest in Cape Town

This week we compared the prices of car rental from Cape Town International Airport with pick up at 21h00 on Friday the 14th of June 2013 and drop off at 13h00 on Sunday the 16th of June 2013. The cheapest option we found was R358 for a Toyota Yaris or similar for the weekend. Please note that prices may change.
