This week, we surveyed travel prices from Johannesburg to Durban. Kulula from OR Tambo displayed the cheapest option for air travel on the 31st August at R739 for a one way flight between the two cities. Shosholoza Meyl economy train services were the cheapest overland option at the time the survey was done, with a ticket costing R130. Car Trawler showed the best prices for the weekend car rental. Please note that all prices will change.
Events in Durban
Visit South Africa's largest parenting expo while you are in Durban over the weekend of 31st August. The Durban Baby Expo will take place from the 31st August to the 2nd September at the Durban International Convention Centre. The expo will have many exciting activities and things to see for all, including a show featuring Barney the Dinosaur. Tickets can be booked through Computicket.

Car Trawler is cheapest at R335 for 2 days
If you want to drive yourself around during your stay in Durban, be sure to search Car Trawler for the cheapest car hire. We priced the cost of renting a car from King Shaka International Airport (Durban) from 21h00 on Friday the 31st August 2012 until 13h00 on Sunday the 2nd September 2012. (Please note prices are subject to change and availability) A Kia Picanto or similar will cost R335 for the weekend (R167.50 per day), with 200 kilometres a day included.
