CPT to JHB Mango is cheapest |

In this first survey of 2014 flight and bus prices, we saw a steep increase in prices as flights and buses fill up with holiday makers on their way home from the coast. This has meant an inflation rate of 211% on the flights on this route. The cheapest flight we found was offered by Mango with a one way flight offered at R2 496 from Cape Town to Lanseria Airport (prices will change). Shosholoza Meyl's economy class train has shown an increase in price for the peak season, with a one way train trip costing R430 per person (prices will change).
Events in Johannesburg
Continue enjoying the festive spirit into 2014 when you visit Santa's Playground at Emperor's Palace until the 12th of January 2014. At this funfair you can expect loads of rides, swimming pools, inflatable slides, food stalls and beer tents. Tickets can be purchased for R60 per person.

Kia Picanto is cheapest at OR Tambo Airport
In this week's survey we compared the prices of car rental at Johannesburg Airport and found Car Trawler to offer the best rates for rental from 21h00 on Friday the 3rd of January 2014 until 13h00 on Sunday the 5th of January 2014. A Kia Picanto or similar was R385 for the weekend's rental when we checked. Please note that prices may change.
