This week, we compared the rates for land travel from Cape Town to Johannesburg. The cheapest option was by train with Shosholoza Meyl's economy class fares at R440 per person. The cheapest bus fare was offered by Citiliner at R530 per person when we checked. Hyundai i20 is cheapest car hire in Johannesburg

This week we compared the prices of vehicle hire at OR Tambo Airport. The cheapest rate we found was offered by Car Trawler when we compared the prices of car hire from 21h00 on Friday the 29th of January 2016 until 13h00 on Sunday the 31st of January 2016. Car Trawler offered a Hyundai i20 or similar for this period at R496 (Please note prices are subject to change).
