This week, we surveyed the prices of travel from Durban to Cape Town on Christmas Day. The cheapest option was offered by Shosholoza Meyl with their economy class train which will stop in Johannesburg on the way to Cape Town. The cheapest bus trip was offered by Citiliner with the one way trip at R705 per person when we checked. (prices could change). If you would like to rent a car from Cape Town Airport, have a look at Car Trawler as they offered the best rates when we checked.
Head to Paarl on the day after Christmas to experience a full moon picnic with Father Christmas at the Taal monument. Bring your picnic basket and blanket and enjoy the views while the kids meet Father Christmas. Tickets can be purchased at the gate at R25 per adult and R5 per child over 6 years old.

This week we surveyed the prices of car hire at Cape Town Airport with pick up at 21h00 on Friday the 25th of December 2015 and drop off at 13h00 on Sunday the 27th of December 2015. The cheapest option we found was R910 for a Ford Ka or similar for the weekend's rental. Please note that prices may change.
