Shosholoza Meyl cheapest CPT-DUR

This week, we compared the prices of land travel from Cape Town to Durban. The cheapest option was train travel with Shosholoza Meyl's economy class fare at R550 per person when we checked (prices could change). For those who prefer bus transport, City to City was the cheapest bus travel option at R760 per person when we checked (prices could change). The bus prices have seen a siginifcant increase on this route since the last survey done, probably as seats have booked up as everyone makes their way home after the festive season. For those who would like to rent a car in Durban, check Car Trawler's prices as they were the cheapest when we checked.

If you are looking for something to do in Durban on the 2nd of January 2015 to continue the New Year's celebrations, book a ticket for The Abba Show which will be taking place each evening from the 12th of December 2014 until the 18th of January 2015. The show will be held at the Izulu Theatre and tickets can be purchased from R250 per person.

Kia Picanto is cheapest car hire in Durban

This week we compared the prices of car rental at King Shaka Airport. The cheapest rate we found was offered by Car Trawler when we compared the prices of car hire from 21h00 on Friday the 2nd of January 2015 until 13h00 on Sunday the4th of January 2015. Car Trawler offered a Kia Picanto or similar for this period at R387 (Please note that prices are subject to change).
