We compared the prices of flights, trains, buses and car hire for travel from Cape Town to Johannesburg for the Mother's Day weekend. From this comparison, the cheapest CPT-JHB flight was with Kulula with the option of travelling to Lanseria Airport proving to be cheaper than travelling to OR Tambo Airport on this date (prices could change). Shosholoza Meyl was the cheapest travel option, with Intercape offering the cheapest bus fares when we checked. What to do in Johannesburg
Spend quality time with your mom this Mother's Day at the annual Mother's Day Concert at the Zoo which will take place on Sunday the 11th of May 2014 at 08:30am. The venue for the concert is the Johannesburg Zoo and families can expect to spoil their mothers with performances by Freshly Ground, Elvis Blue, Jamali as well as the chamber orchestra of Johannesburg. So pack a picnic and treat your mom to a day spent at the Zoo with her kids. Tickets can be purchased from R45 per person.

Kia Picanto is cheapest car hire in Johannesburg
In this week's survey we compared the prices of car hire at OR Tambo Airport and found Car Trawler to offer the best rates for rental from 21h00 on Friday the 9th of May 2014 until 13h00 on Sunday the 11th of May 2014. A Kia Picanto or similar was R385 for the weekend's rental when we checked. Please note that prices may change.
