We had a look at the prices of travel from Cape Town to Durban for the long weekend that starts on the 25th of April 2014. Although this weekend is attractive for travel as it is a long weekend, it is not a good time to fly as airlines have increased their prices significantly in anticipation of the increase in demand for flights during this time. The cheapest flight we found was offered by Mango at R1699 for a one way flight (prices will change). This price is almost double the price we found on the last survey done on this route. Bus and train prices have not increased as dramatically as the flight prices, with Shosholoza Meyl's economy train fare remaining at R500 per person when we checked (prices could change).
Events in Durban
Make your way to the shark tank while you are in Durban to watch The Sharks take on the Highlanders in their Super Rugby match on the 25th of April 2014. The match will start at 19:10 at Kings Park stadium. Tickets can be purchased from R60 per person.

Kia Picanto is cheapest car rental at King Shaka Airport
This week we compared the rates of car rental at Durban Airport from 21h00 on Friday the 25th of April 2014 until 13h00 on Sunday the 27th of April 2014. The cheapest quote we found was R398 for a Kia Picanto or similar for the weekend's rental, offered by Car Trawler. (Prices can change).
