Day of Reconciliation Flights |
13 December 2013 flights |
The flight and bus prices have shown a steep increase since the last survey done on this route, with an inflation rate of 91.9% on prices since the same time last year. With businesses closing for the holiday season, and South Africans flocking to the coast for the summer holidays, seats on flights on this route have booked up, meaning that those who are still to book have to pay more for their flights. The cheapest flight we found was offered by British Airways (operated by Comair) with a one way flight from OR Tambo to Cape Town at R2 579 per person (prices will change). The most affordable travel option was R360 for an economy class train ticket with Shosholoza Meyl. Although not as steep as the flight prices, the buses have also shown an increase for the start of the festive season, with the cheapest one way trip at R630 with City to City (prices will change). For affordable car hire, you could book a Citroen C1 or similar at R425 for the weekend's rental (price will change)
Celebrate the start of your December break from the office at the Durbanville Beer Fest. The festival will take place from the 13th to the 15th of December 2013 at the Quarry at the Hillcrest Wine Estate in Durbanville. Visitors can look forward to loads of craft beers as well as a full bar, food stalls and live music.
