This week, we had a look at the prices of travel by bus and train from Johannesburg to Cape Town for the Worker's Day long weekend. If you are treating yourself with a long weekend break to Cape Town, be sure to check the train prices offered by Shosholoza Meyl as their sitter class fare was the cheapest option on this date when we checked. For those that prefer travelling by coach, book with City to City as their one way fare of R580 per person was the cheapest when we checked (prices could change). Events in Cape Town

A visit to the quaint towns of Riebeek Kasteel and Riebeek West is not to be missed. Enjoy the annual Riebeek Valley Olive Festival from the 1st to the 3rd of May 2015 and sample olives in all their forms. The festival will include an olive tasting emporium, fresh goods and crafts markets, wine tastings from surrounding wine farms as well as an olive martini bar. Tickets can be purchased from R100.

Kia Picanto is cheapest car rental in Cape Town

This week we compared the prices of vehicle hire at Cape Town International Airport. The cheapest rate we found was offered by Car Trawler when we compared the prices of car hire from 21h00 on Friday the 1st of May 2015 until 13h00 on Sunday the 3rd of May 2015. Car Trawler offered a Kia Picanto or similar for this period at R497 (Please note prices are subject to change).
