Travel to Franschhoek Bastille Fest

The charming Cape Winelands town of Franschhoek will celebrate its French Huguenot heritage once again with the annual Franschhoek Bastille Festival. Taking place on the 12th and 13th of July 2014, this festival will offer loads of wine, food and entertainment with a French theme. Tickets for the festival are available from R180 per person.

JHB to CPT Travel

This week, we had a look at the prices of travel from Johannesburg to Cape Town for the Bastille Festival weekend. The cheapest option for travel to Cape Town was offered by Shosholoza Meyl with their sitter class train fare at R360 per person per way (prices will change). Bus prices were significantly more expensive than this when we checked, with the cheapest one way fare of R600 offered by City to City (prices will change). For those who would like to make the most of the weekend in Cape Town, make sure you rent a car so that you can drive yourself to the festival. Kia Picanto is cheapest car hire in Cape Town

This week we compared the prices of car hire at Cape Town International Airport. The cheapest rate we found was offered by Car Trawler when we compared the prices of car hire from 21h00 on Friday the 11th of July 2014 until 13h00 on Sunday the 13th of July 2014. Car Trawler offered a Kia Picanto or similar for this period at R395 (Please note prices are subject to change).
