Fortunately for those of us who love our food and drink, we can annually attend the Good Food and Wine Show. This year the Cape Town show is on from 29 May to 1 June 2014 and is an excellent reason to travel from Johannesburg to Cape Town for the weekend. Indulge yourself with gourmet food tasting, sample a wide variety of wines, try your hand at some of the cooking classes (prebook for these) and watch your favourite celebrity chef - both local and international chefs feature.

We surveyed the prices on all routes and Kulula offered the best fare to Cape Town from Lanseria Airport at R753 per person, one way on 30 May 2014. If you prefer to travel by train, Shosholoza Meyl's economy class will cost you R360 one way.

Citroen C1 is cheapest car hire at Cape Town Airport

This week we compared the prices of car rental in Cape Town. The cheapest rate we found was offered by Car Trawler when we compared the prices of car hire from 21h00 on Friday the 30th of May 2014 until 13h00 on Sunday the 1st of June 2014. Car Trawler offered a Citroen C1 or similar for this period at R403 (Please note prices are subject to change).
