Whilst flight prices are going through the roof, car rental prices remain at record lows for this year, courtesy of First Car Rental's record low prices. Not much has changed since last week's survey, but Woodford car rental's prices have increased to R370. Note that all car rental prices are for the weekend starting 29 August 2008 (with price checks at Durban International Airport - though prices don't vary much at Cape Town and Johannesburg airports).

Note that by choosing the First Car Rental (formerly National Alamo) R324 option, you get a Group L car (Opel Corsa or similar - 1.2l manual hatchback, radio, CDs, 3 doors), there is a R5500 excess, you get 150km per day free (other than petrol of course), and R0.94 is charged for each additional km.
