There are only Airlink flights to Mthatha, but passengers have a choice of Sani (previously called Thrifty), Europcar, Avis and First Car Rental for car hire at Mthatha Matanzima Airport (UTT). Mthatha was previously known as Umtata, and the airport as KD Matanzima Airport.
Vehicles for hire include the Ford Ka, Toyota Yaris, Renault Fluence, Nissan Tiida, Chev Aveo, Hyundai IX35, BMW 3 Series, Toyota Avanza 5 seater, Mercedes C Class, Toyota Fortuner or VW Kombi 8 Seater.
