Most popular airline sites in South Africa |
24 August 2007 |
We decided to compare the various airline sites in South Africa (1Time Airline, British Airways, Interlink, Kulula.com, Mango Airlines, Nationwide Airline and South African Airways). Instead of giving our subjective views we'll have a look at what their Alexa rankings are. Now before you tell us about the problems with Alexa rankings - we know! What the Alexa rankings do provide, are a rough idea of how much traffic is flowing through these sites. Note that the lower the Alexa ranking the more traffic that flows through the site.

Interesting that the two state-run carriers, Mango Airline and South African Airways, are receiving the most web traffic. British Airways has an awesome worldwide Alexa ranking, but unsurprisingly only 2% of its web traffic flows from South Africa. Interlink isn't too impressive - even a start-up airline should be receiving more web traffic than them.
For comparisons sake, here are the Alexa rankings of www.SouthAfrica.TO. We're quite impressed that our site receives more traffic than 1Time airline!
