Interlink suspends Pretoria flights until the 23rd January 2010, as a result of damaged suffered on its only airline on the route (from a bird strike). As a result of the recent bird strike, Interlink Airlines later goes on to make a donation to the Animal Anti Cruelty League - Bellville Branch - to assist them in fund raising to start a specialist bird section. |

Interlink Airline apparently concludes an oral agreement with the South African Police and Correctional services to transport 220 members to the World Police and Fire Games in Quebec (Canada). The SA government pays over R3m for the flight from Johannesburg to Quebec, but the plane never took off as a result of problems with life vests and oxygen masks on the plane (Interlink had chartered the plane from another company), the fact that the plane did not have permission to enter Canadian airspace and problems with providing a qualified crew. The R3m is repaid to the SA government, but in April 2008 the SA government sues Interlink for expenses related to non-refundable hotel deposits, costs of training for the games and visa fees. |

Ferdie Botha | I flew down to Cape Town before Christmas and had to hear on 28th that my family's return flight has been cancelled. Interlink however simply chose to refund the airfare - NO ALTERNATIVE arangements was made, or even ATTEMPTED to be made. Personnel offered absolutely no other solution to stranded passengers except a refund which will be handled by banks within 5-7 days - this 3 days before we would return to Pretoria. When asked if no other arrangement could be made via other airlines, bus or train, the simple answer is "No, we don't have arrangements in place". Yet another example of poor planning resulting in poor service to South Africans - and then we are blamed to be negative when we voice our distrust in the ability of SA's poor service industry standards? Good luck for the poor souls expecting service of any standard during the Soccer World Cup!! |

Masnoona | Interlink may be proclaiming to have the cheapest flight tickets??... but has the worst ever service with regards to trying to get hold of them via their HOTLINE RESERVATIONS/INFO details as indicated on their webpage. The same applies trying to get response via email correspondence. I have been trying since Saturday 6/12 @ 15h30pm to get hold of them via their "National Reservations Hotline 0861 101 135 & 011 966 0100" numbers, but to NO AVAIL. I tried again the whole of Sunday morning..... not even a "we are not available, please try again later" response. Please imagine my frustration when trying to get hold of a profesional company that proclaims to provide a service to the consumer in terms of flying, but grossly fails when it comes to their 1st line communication. The worst it that you can try all the other numbers on the website and they refer you to their "HOTLINE @@!!!" |
Jessica | I travelled back from JHB last Sunday to Cape Town. I was so impressed with the friendly staff and excellent service! Well done! Really impressive, I will be a good ambassador for the brand... I intend to spread the word! |
ameera | i really impressed with the quick response, wish could be part of the friendly staff also. |

Aayesha | Please advise if you are considering flights between Cape Town & Durban. |
Jurg | When are flights between Mthatha and Jhb starting? |
George flights!!! | I think through southafrica.to we can really help and promote this little airline, maybe just one day they'll help bring fares down on smaller routes. I see on their website they've got Polokwane on there as well now, but no flights found, hopefully they'll start this soon, and restart Nelspruit, Maputo, Pemba again. Also still hoping for that Cape Town-George-Port Elizabeth route they planned last year. Seems Mr Cheap flights has contact, so he might find out more for us. I believe Interlink is perfect to compete with Airlink and SAX where they've got monopolies elsewhere as well, ie. JNB-Bloem, JNB-Kimberley, JNB-Richards Bay, JNB-Pietermaritzburg etc... |
Naresh Dajee | How do I ensure that I get emailed about cheap / special flight prices regularly from Cpt to Jhb and return. Please add me to your list, or mail me back |
Mr Cheap Flights | Hi Martin. I got the following message from Interlink Airlines: "Unfortunately we are busy with a new schedule encomassing new aircraft on the Nelspruit, Maputo, Pemba route. Frequencies and times would be changing.i will keep you informed as soon as we get confirmation.at the moment we dont have any flights operational on a schedule." Let us know if you hear any more. |
Mr Cheap Flights | Hi Martin. Not sure that Interlink have plans to fly from Joburg to Pemba. Will check with them. |
Martin Thomsen | I would like to ask when you start flying from Johannesburg to Pemba. Best regards, Martin Thomsen |
CE GUY | Those jobs been on there since dont no when seems everythink slow paced over there.Interlink fly over borders aswel. The jhb ticket sales looks dead.I think interlink only has 4 return flights to cape town monday, wens an friday.Check the scedule. For the job seekers apply online or email hr@interlinkairlines.com south africa.to sure there more history and info about this company? |
George flights!!! | Interlink is said to launch flights routing Cape Town-George-Plettenberg Bay-Port Elizabeth within the next few months...this has been advertised in some magazines, and they're advertising jobs at these airports on their website. |
