So much talk, so much excitement. Our cruise was booked and we were ready to set sail. Our group of 14 had an early start to the day and we all gathered at the port. We had an efficient embarkation at Durban Harbour and enjoyed lunch until our luggage arrived and rooms were ready. The ship was magnificent and we could not get over all the glass and windows on the ship. It was the first ship cruise for us all and we did not even know where to start. There were views from all parts of the ship. The ship was extremely clean and beautifully decorated. Our cabins were great and the beds were comfortable but we hardly spent any time in there at all.
The sea days were fun and there were so many events to attend. Unfortunately we were not blessed with very good weather and could not dock at the island but this did not affect us. We were so busy and wished our holiday lasted longer. There was no excuse for boredom and no time to read any of our books that we had packed.
The staff on board were extremely helpful and courteous and we were always met with kindness and smiles. Our favourite was Mikayla. Our guys adored her and the cocktails she made and we girls enjoyed the good looking crewman as well. Our guys loved the Pasha Lounge and made sure they were there right up until the doors were being closed in the mornings. The captain’s party was truly amazing. The set up and food was out of this world. We met many new friends and danced the night away under the moonlight and stars. Two of our guys were also lucky enough to personally meet the captain down below level, had a drink and played a round of cards with him. Lucky them….we just never heard enough of that.
On the last day of our cruise my cousin Carl, popped the big question and proposed to Pam on the deck. The crew prepared something special for the couple and we all had some bubbly and fruit and shared in the joy of the happy couple.
All in all we had the most fantastic and memorable time on our cruise. All thanks to Victor Bunjira as well for taking time and having patience with us when we booked our cruise. We are currently getting everyone together to book another cruise on the MSC Opera in January 2014.
Until then and making more memories…..
