2013-06-09 : Rating 4 /5 : With prices rising daily, it is a welcome discovery to find a company called APEX CAR HIRE in Johannesburg. They offer car and bakkie rentals and RENT-A-WRECK AND RENT-A -SUPER facilities too. They have week-end specials and monthy rentals as well as long distance money savers. At an appointed place outside the Domestic Arrivals section of OR Tambo International Airport I was welcomed by a most efficient and pleasant man who drove me to a parking area where he completed the paperwork and handed me the keys to my car. He assured me that there was a 24 hour back-up service and if I had any problems the car would be replaced immediately. He supplied me with an after hours emergency number. I had told them that I was a woman driving around on my own and that I wanted a reliable vehicle with a radio. The car was not in showroom condition, but was certainly not too bad and I did not feel uncomfortable driving it. The company will pick up your car in the city or at the airport, a welcome option if you prefer to take the Gautrain for part of your trip. The person who told me about this company has been hiring from them for years whenever he is in South Africa and is satisfied every time he does so. What better recommendation could one want than that! Do give them a try if you need transport and do not have to have the latest model car to impress a business colleague.
