27 April 2013: "I travelled to South Africa from Perth Western Australia. I am an artist and I was invited to paint a rhino on World Rhino Day to raise awareness  of the plight of these animals.  I flew South African airways economy class,  non stop to Johannesburg and was pleasantly surprised to find each seat had their own radio/tv  station.  I chose a window seat and was happy to discover that the seat next to me was vacant. I am of short stature and unfortunately airline seating seems to be designed for taller people! Consequently I find the seats very uncomfortable for prolonged periods. The SAA airline staff on board were extremely pleasant and efficient. Other than the duration of the trip it was a very good journey. On  arrival in Johannesburg it was a little confusing trying to find the domestic departures for my onward flight from Johannesburg to Durban, but I eventually managed to find my way by asking for directions. It was quite a long way, but quite easy to negotiate.  Arriving in Durban I was lucky to have someone there to meet me as I discovered the airport is a long distance form the city centre.  For a woman travelling on her own, I was apprehensive looking for alternative transport."
