flight path from Johannesburg to Gaborone, Botswana

Gaborone isn't blessed with a plethora of great hotels. We suggest trying:

  • the new Town Lodge Gaborone

  • the Peermont Mondior which is a 15m walk from the River Walk Shopping centre. Eat at the Newscafe across the road. It has a small pool. Book an apartment-like "suite" for extra comfort.

"We barely made it to our connection in Johannesburg to Gaborone because of the delay in Washington, but we did, and boarded onto a tiny propeller plane. It was very bumpy but thankfully short...My room  (the picture below) is separate from the house, it is across the yard from the actual house. At first this freaked me out that I would be there alone, but now I’m so appreciative to have my own space...Botswana is hot, and dry, very dry. But trees are in full bloom with beautiful flowers and I fall asleep to the sound of percussion, roosters crowing, and dogs barking. Not exactly Brahms lullabies, but I actually like it. It’s the sound of another culture, another life." Lindsay
