13 May 2013. I flew with Lufthansa from Johannesburg to Athens via Frankfurt, for our dream Greek holiday. We chose Lufthansa because it was the cheapest flight deal we could get. I hate flying whether it's for an hour or long haul, but the pain was somewhat eased by being in the massive Airbus A380, which is definitely more spatious than domestic SA planes - we each had our own tv, and I watched a couple of movies (latest James Bond and some animation - they've got quite a range). In Frankfurt we arrived at 5am and had to go through customs as this was our first point of entry into the EU, changed into a smaller plane, one level ony, and no TVs - just got a snack, water, tea/coffee on this flight, and we landed smoothly in Athens (no need to go through customs again, as we'd done that in Frankfurt).
