Rustenburg
Rustenburg is a town in the North-West Provice of South Africa. Rustenburg was founded in 1851 by burghers who, with the Voortrekker leader Andries Pretorius, had settled in the area a decade earlier. Just outside Rustenburg is a refinery, which processes around 70% of the worlds platinum, and the 2 largest platinum mines in the world. Rustenburg is contained in the Bojanala Platinum District Municipality.

Rustenburg lies at the foot of the Magaliesburg mountain range.

Rustenburg has almost all year sunshine. Summer temperatures range from 22º C and 35º C, with afternoon thunderstorms from August to March. The average temperature from May to July is 16º C, but can range from an average of 2º C to 20º C in a single day.
