The following cruise specials from South Africa are available on selected cruises
from Cape Town & Durban on the MSC Sinfonia & Opera ships.

Mystery Cabin Special

Note that the Mystery Cabin special is not running at the moment.

Prima Special

  • Book early and save Up to 40% off per person.

  • Book and Pay IN FULL 90 Days Prior to Departure

  • The actual percentage of the “Prima” saving will be reviewed on an on-going basis and is subject to withdrawal or change without prior notice

  • Can ONLY be combined with ‘Kids go Free’, Senior Citizens and Honeymoon special – Capacity controlled and can be withdrawn at any time

Best Price of the Day

  • If you miss out on the early booking Prima special you can still get a good deal with this ever-changing fare

  • guarantees you the best price available at the specific time you book your cruise

Happy Family

  • On the MSC Opera only, book 2 balcony cabins with an interleading door and pay the cruise fare for only 3 adults

  • the balcony cabins can sleep a maximum of 2 people each

  • subject to availability and applied to the regular quoted fares

Tandem

  • On selected cruises, book a cabin just for the kids and pay a reduced rate starting from: R450 per night (inside), R500 per night
    (outside)

  • This applies to a maximum of 2 children in a cabin and only 1 cabin per family.

  • The category and location of the second cabin will be confirmed by MSC Cruises. We cannot guarantee that it will be adjacent to the first cabin, and it may be in a different cabin category.

All in one

  • Available for 1 adult sharing a cabin with up to 3 children under 18

  • Parents pay the Regular Quoted Fare while the first child under 18 pays just 60% of the adult fare and the remaining children only pay the mandatory charges.

Children Cruise Free

  • Children under 18 travelling in the same cabin as their parents cruise free

  • Children will need to pay port, service and insurance fees

Young & Young

  • Two people between 18 and 29 years of age sharing one cabin will qualify for a special discount per cabin on top of the Regular Quoted Fare - a discount of 5% (Inside cabin), 8% (Outside Cabin), 10% (Balcony Cabin or Suite)

  • Not applicable to balcony suites on the MSC Opera

Senior Club

  • Passengers over 60 years of age will be offered a special discount on top of the Regular Quoted Fare - a discount of 8% (Inside Cabin), 10% (Outside Cabin), 12% (Balcony or Suite)

  • not applicable to balcony suites on the MSC Opera

Single Fares

  • If you will be travelling in a cabin on your own, you will pay a 50% surcharge on your cruise fare

Honeymooners

  • 10% discount on the quoted fare with a One Category Upgrade (subject to availability)

  • (Please note that no upgrades are possible from an Inside cabin to an outside cabin or from an outside cabin to a Suite. No upgrades above a Cat 10 on Sinfonia and above Cat 9 on Opera)

  • only applicable for 2 people sharing

  • Valid for up to 6 months after the wedding. Proof to be provided that it is for a honeymoon.

25th Anniversary

  • for your Silver Wedding Anniversary, receive a discount of R250 per person on your cruise fare

  • valid for selected departures within 6 months of your anniversary date

50th Anniversary

  • for your Gold Wedding Anniversrary, receive a discount of R500 per person on your cruise fare

  • valid for selected departures within 6 months of your anniversary date

Combo Cruise Prima

  • Book and Pay IN FULL 90 Days Prior to Departure
  • Cannot be combined with any other cruise special

Special conditions relating to Balcony Cabins and Suites

  • A maximum of 2 children UNDER 12 at the time of completion of travel can be accommodated with 2 Fare paying passengers in the Balcony Suites on both Sinfonia and Opera and pay only the applicable port charges and service fees

  • Inter-leading cabins are available to accommodate families in Category 10 Balcony cabins on the Opera; however children will NOT cruise free when accommodated in the adjoining cabins.

  • ALL DISCOUNTS EXPRESSED AS A PERCENTAGE ARE PER PERSON, AND APPLY ONLY TO THE CRUISE FARE AND NO OTHER CHARGES

Specials are offered on selected cruises and may be withdrawn at any time without prior notice. They are NOT applicable to Peak Season and North & Southbound Cruises. Selected Discounts may be combined from time to time and can be withdrawn at any time without prior notice.

The compulsory on board service charge is required to be pre-paid with your cruise fare and will be added to all bookings at a rate of R50 per person per day (Adult) and R25 per person per day (Child 0-17.99 years)(Including Northbound Positioning Cruises) and R65 per person per day (Adult) and R32.50 per person per day (Child 0-17.99 years) on Southbound Positioning Cruises.

Please note that South African Citizens holding Foreign Passports will NOT be permitted to board the cruise.

** Mandatory Cruise Insurance is NOT included in South and Northbound sailings, and passengers are required to obtain their own travel insurance and send proof of such insurance to MSC Starlight Cruises.
