First Car Rental is charging R332 for a weekend's rental, whilst Tempest Car Hire is one rand cheaper at R331.

Imperial Car Rental prices up
Imperial Car Rental's price have risen from R354 to R416 (and by default their partner, Europcar, has experienced the same).
Avis site was down
For the first time in our Johannesburg car rental surveys (first Joburg car rental survey was on 23 Feb 2008), the reservation system on the Avis website was not working:

Ellen had a fine time in South Africa - from Cape Town to Stellenbosch (wineries), flight to Johannesburg, drive to Balule Plains & the Kruger National Park (where he stayed at the Tremisana Lodge). She saw 4 out of the big 5 (the leopard was the missing one) and was brave enough to do a half-day bush walk.
