Windhoek is the capital of Namibia, but its public transport is lacking, so you'll need to rent a vehicle after flying in - unless you don't require wheel, in which case you could hire a taxi (note that the airport is 40km outside Hosea Kutako International Airport). There is also a second airport for domestic flights - Eros Airport.
Europcar, Avis and Drive South Africa offer car rentals from Windhoek Airport; Sani offers rentals from the city. Melbic offeer 4x4 rentals (often the vehicle you actually need in Namibia).
You can hire pretty much any vehicle from Windhoek Hosea Kutako Airport - from a Mercedes Vito Traveliner to budget vehicles like the Ford Ka's, Kia Picanto & Toyota Yaris. For something a bit rougher go for a Nissan X Trail. For luxury try a Mercedes C Class Vehicle or a Toyota Avensis. Because Namibia is such a vast country, you might find yourself driving long distances, in which case we recommend hiring a slightly better class vehicle than you would usually.
