2014-02-22 Rating 5/5 : My flight together with my hubby and son was a very pleasant one. We were greeted by a pretty air hostess with a smile. We were on our way to CT to leave our son to study at UCT. Luckily for us we didn't have heavy hand luggage. Many passengers were assisted by the friendly personnel who helped lift their heavy bags into the above baggage compartment. You always feel comfortable when there's friendly people around. We left a rainy King Shaka airport with turbulence en route, and arrived with a smooth landing at Cape Town. A week later while watching Top Billing, I realized that the bride aired on the show was one of Mango's pretty air hostesses, whose face I remembered, because of her friendly smile of course. 2014-02-16 Rating 4/5 : The last time I was on a plane was about 7 months ago now. On the 28th of July 2013 (13h20 flight), I was on my way back from attending my mom's funeral in Durban (home), back to school in Cape Town (University of the Western Cape). It was a trying time for me and the flight took less than the stipulated 2 hours, a great pleasure for me, because I had no time in hand, I had to quickly come back and catch up on my school work. I can say that my experience was no pain in the behind, over what I was going through, I had a great time, because nothing bad occurred and we landed safely. I had a nice chat with the fellow who sat next to me, nice way to get my mind off of my tragedy. As always, the staff was nice enough and did their jobs very well. Innocentia Zama Ngubo
2014-02-12 Rating 5/5 : My previous flight was on the 13 January 2014, from King Shaka Airport, Durban to Cape Town. This was my first flight solo, and my first time to Cape Town, for a graduate interview. I was anxious about timing and and sickness due to pressure upon the flight. However I am please to inform you, that the airline officials were approachable, warm and friendly and were willing to direct me. The pilot and his counterparts were reassuring on the speaker, and did a fantastic job with a smooth and timely flight. Upon reaching Cape Town, directions and assistance was provided to me in fetching my luggage and directions to find a taxi in the unfamiliar airport. All in all, it was a pleasant and smooth journey and wish to make the journey again. Fly Mango! Suvania Sukool
2014-02-05 Rating 4/5 : The most recent flight experience I've enjoyed with Mango airlines was the trip I had taken to Cape Town departing from Durban on the 17th of January, Friday at 08:45. Along with my two cousins and sister, we enjoyed exceptional service and outstanding airhostess hospitality. We were surprised to find that it was relatively easy to book our online flights and confirm our booking with the self-service system at the airport. Mango had provided us with brilliant efficiency during our travel in the sky. Our flight was an overall good one. Feelings of relaxation were experienced as the cabin crew put us at ease every step of the way. Air hostesses offered us delicious and fulfilling snacks and drinks throughout the travelling. Passengers were in capable hands and were made to feel important as they boarded the plane. The Mango pilot for the airline provided his passengers with comfort as he updated us whenever was necessary; before takeoff, 15 minutes into the flight and 15 minutes prior to landing as well as after landing. Ethereal views surrounded window seat passengers and they described their experience as breathtaking. Beween sharing laughs and stirring conversations, overhead TV screens kept us informed and intrigued on latest offers regarding South African travel and tourism as well as what Mango airlines are looking forward to introduce to their future passengers. I would definitely recommend this airline as many new facillities and improvements are constantly being made to assist a smoother journey in the clouds. My Mango experience was a delightful one! Here's to many more happy travels. Fly Mango! Prelene Neerputh
2014-01-23 Rating 5/5 : Having had 3 kids in a space of 2 years, travelling by any means seems to be very daunting to me. When my twins were just over 2 and a half years old and my baby was 10 months, i flew alone with them from Durban to Cape Town. Totally nervous as to how any of them would react to their first plane ride and to how i would entertain them in such a small place for 2 hrs without disturbing anyone else. Juggling with 3 little ones and luggage was no easy task, but the cabin crew was great all the way from helping us up the flight of stairs when boarding, to helping us get seated and storing our luggage, etc. Amazingly enough my babies were perfect angels the entire time. none of them cried or walked around, and my littlest baby slept the entire way. the twins just celebrated their 6th birthday on the 14th of January and baby will be turning 4 on the 12th February and they havent flown since! Definately time for that now ;-). Minaaz Sayeed
2014-01-17 Rating 5/5 : My son travelled from Durban to Cape Town on 11 January 2011. It was his first ever flight and he was nervous and excited at the same time. I told him what to expect as I have flown a number of times. Not knowing the procedure we told the check in clerk who offered assistance. My son was escourted onto the plane which we really appreciated. He says he had a wonderful flight and especially enjoyed the take off. I am grateful to the Mango staff for making his first flight such a pleasant one. He is going to school in the Western Cape and will come home on holidays so expect him to be flying quite a lot from now on depending on prices as compared to busses. We will be booking flights on the cheapest airline which at this present time is Mango. Thank you Mango and please consider giving extra special prices for students travelling to and from home in future. I recently flew on Airlink from Pietermaritzburg to Johannesburg return on very discounted tickets and snacks were included so we feel Mango could have done the same even on the cheaper flights. Other than that from what he tells me, everything was good. I am a single parent and my son goes to school in the West Coast, Cape and would book all his travels in the holidays on Mango if the prices were kept as low as possible as it would cut out on a lot of hours spent travelling on the bus so it would be great if Mango could perhaps have discounted scholar prices? Everyone was very nice and helpful and my son says he enjoyed the flight immensely (his words: very very much) and the pilot was very informative and the air hostesses were very helpful and very very pretty (again his words!). Snacks are really not an issue as he didn’t feel he needed anything and much better that you keep the prices down rather than provide snacks. Bernedene Bernard
2013-08-20 Rating 3/5 : Our travel agent chose Mango Airlines for us to fly. I had to change my flight to a week earlier which cost me R350 - they should put an asterisk when booking the flight to say terms and conditions apply. It's a lengthy process to get wifi connected - you have to go onto a g-connect website, purchase the bundles there, it was too long, I just switched it off. The flight was fine, just a normal typical hop-on-hop-off, nothing special. About 90% full. In Cape Town I stayed in Pinelands, where I found out you can't buy any liquor. I would avoid that suburb in future if I didn't know someone there...or take a 6-pack along with me. Taxi driver from airport didn't have a taxi sign - he just came up to me and offered his services, which saved (R150 instead of R210 with the shuttle guys). Menga Nhlabathi
2013-08-20 Rating 5/5 : December 2010 me and hubby we were going to Cape Town for a weekend and for the first time having a trip, first time in Cape Town, first time travelling with a plane that was Mango and first time in a hotel. I was so scared but at the same time so excited to travel in a plane. During that week I kept on calling the Mango call center asking what to expect - actually I had too many questions about the plane - but they were able to assist me. As the big day arrived in Durban it was raining. I sat at the window because I wanted to see down and at the time it started to go up it was like my whole body was tearing apart, but when we were up everything was fine. Mmm on the Sunday when we come back to Durban again there was a strong rain and I kept on praying because in Cape Town it was a sunny day and I was really scared, but it was a weekend to remember I really enjoyed it a lot. I wish I could fly again mmm I miss it a lot. Jabulile Vundla
