The MSC Magnifica has been described as being "opulent and magnificent" by MSC Cruises. This ship is luxurious and majestic beyond any other cruise liner. She was built in Saint-Nazaire from January 2009 until January 2010 and entered service in March 2010. The Magnifica was built to the Musica class design and is 293.8 metres long with a beam of 32.2 metres high. The ship weighs 93,330 gross tons and can reach a speed of 43 km per hour. She has 1259 cabins that can carry 3605 passengers at full capacity.

The Magnifica has two main restaurants, L'Edera and Quattro Ventri, each serving a selection of high quality foods.

The ship also has an asian restaurant called Oriental Plaza, ensuring that all tastes are catered for. There are 17 bars and lounges, each with different themes, as well as a state of the art theatre, discos and casinos to provide entertainment for all.

Guests can enjoy hours of relaxation at the MSC Aurea Spa, which offers a Turkish bath, sauna, massage rooms, beauty salon and fitness centre. There are 3 swimming pools to choose from, as well as a tennis court, basketball court and a jogging track for the more energetic guests.
Choose from these different cabins on the MSC Magnifica:
Inside cabins - These cabins are approximately 13 square metres in size. They have air conditioning, single beds that can be converted into a double bed, a bathroom with a shower, interactive TV, telephone, availability of internet connection by your own laptop (on payment), mini bar and safe.
Outside cabins - Approximately 16 square metres big, and have all the same amenities as the inside cabin, plus a window with an ocean view.
Balcony cabin - These cabins are approximately 17 - 23 square metres in size. These have all the same amentites as mentioned above, plus a balcony to the outside.
Balcony suite - The balcony suite is about 27 square metres, and is therefore great for families travelling together. Along with all the same features as the other cabins, you will have a spacious wardrobe in your suite.

January 2012 - Allan cruised from Venice on the MSC Magnifica and described it as being "just that - magnificent". He says the atmosphere is "sophisticated" and that they "loved it from top to bottom, port to starboard and prow to stern". Allan says the shows on board were "great" and "some acts were so good thay could have been part of the Cirque De Soleil".

16 August 2011 - Glenn says of his cruise from Venice on the MSC Magnifica: "I was very happy with everything". He says his cabin was " very clean and new looking. Our cabin room stewart (Pandra) was excellent in doing all he could do for us with a smile! ".
