2012 Zambezi Airlines quits flying from CPT to Livingstone

On the 6th April 2011 Zambezi Airlines announced that it was commencing direct flights between Cape Town and Livingstone, from the 30th June 2011. The flights would take place on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays; leaving Cape Town at 08h00 and arriving in Livingstone at 11h10. Here's their full press release:

* Passengers travelling Lusaka to Cape Town or Cape Town to Lusaka will remain on board during
the transit stop in Livingstone will clear Immigration and Customs in Lusaka.
VICTORIA FALLS TRANSFER SERVICE
We are finalizing plans to offer a bus transfer service between Livingstone and Victoria Falls that will
be published as a ZJ number on GDS, which would allow BSP through-ticketing between Cape Town
and Victoria Falls, and between Lusaka and Victoria Falls.
DOMESTIC SALES
Seats are open for sale between Lusaka and Livingstone and we will shortly have an Interline Ticketing
agreement with Zambia’s domestic carrier – Proflight Zambia – to allow connections to be sold to
other Zambian tourism destinations.
AIRCRAFT
Our fleet is comprised of three Boeing 737-500 aircraft configured for 99 economy and 12 business

CATERING
Hot meals (snack only on domestic sector) and non-alcoholic beverages provided free of charge in
economy class. Full service hot meal and selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in
business class.
BAGGAGE
Our standard baggage policy applies as below:
• Adults and Children over 2 years: economy 32 kg and business 42 kg checked; 10 kg hand
baggage.
Infants under 2 years: 10 kg checked; 5 kg hand baggage.
• Excess baggage charged at $6 per kg. Up to 100kg excess baggage is permitted, all subject to
availability on aircraft; no one piece of baggage shall exceed 32 kg.
For passengers holding direct (transit time of less than 12 hours) outbound/inbound connections to
other carriers, the baggage allowance of connecting carrier shall be honoured on our flights. In order
to waive any excess baggage charges, passengers must present their printed e-ticket showing
connecting flights and baggage allowances to our check-in staff."
