Lufthansa operates seasonal flights between Germany (Munich) and Cape Town (South Africa). They will also introduce seasonal flights between Frankfurt and Cape Town in 2016.
29 July 2016 -
30 May 2016 - Lufthansa will operate three weekly flights between Cape Town and Frankfurt from the 2nd of December 2016. These flights will be operated by an Airbus A340-300 on Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday. Demand for direct flights to Cape Town has shown no sign of dying down.
21 Jul 2014 - Lufthansa will be increasing their capacity to Cape Town over the summer months. From the end of October Lufthansa will be using a bigger aircraft to cart people from the winter in Europe to the summer sun in Cape Town. The aircraft they will be using is an Airbus A340 600, it seats up to 375 passengers and the first A360 600 was delivered to Lufthansa in 1993. This switch in aircraft will add 30% more capacity to the route during the peak season. The increase in capacity comes after the demand for direct flights from Europe to Cape Town has increased. Great news for Cape Town tourism and South African tourism as a whole!
