Over the year SouthAfrica.TO carried out a multitude of flight surveys, and now it's time for the mother of all surveys - seeing which airline was overall cheapest during 2007.
The following table shows in how many surveys each airline recorded the cheapest flights in 2007, allowing one to get a feel for which airline was most consistently the cheapest.

As can be seen from the table above, Nationwide is way in the lead in terms of offering the cheapest flight prices in South Africa. Out of a total of 37 surveys, 49% of the time Nationwide airlines offered the cheapest flight prices - a phenomenal performance. South African Airways was the only airline surveyed which never offered the cheapest flight prices.
The following table shows the cheapest flight price we surveyed on each route during 2007, which airline achieved that flight price and when the flight price was surveyed. Note also that SouthAfrica.TO surveys check flight prices on Friday nights, as that's when many people want to travel.

Kulula.com, Mango airline and Nationwide airline share the honours with 2 cheapest flights each. The very cheapest flight surveyed was a Kulula.com com flight from Cape Town to Durban on the 17th August 2007, costing R288. Well done Kulula.com (and Comair, it's owner).
Cheapest time to fly was in July/August, with the cheapest flights recorded being from the 20th July to the 24th August.
