Air Uganda Flights

Air Uganda is a Ugandan state-owned airline, operating from Entebbe International Airport.

  • 23 Sep 2014. Air Uganda announced yesterday that they will not be resuming flights. This isn't a big surprise following the termination of 231 staff members in August. Flights were originally suspended in June after they failed to meet the operational requirements of the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). It seems they are unable to meet the requirements set by the CAA despite the fact that they passed the Iata Operational Safety Audit. All refunds must be submitted to the airline by the 30th of September 2014 as none will be considered thereafter.

  • 4 Aug 2014. After Air Uganda's international flights were suspended in June 2014 the airline and the Ugandan Civil Aviation Authority have been blaming each other for the downfall of the airline. The cancellation Air Uganda's flights have now effected those who rely on the success of the airline the most, its employees. The airline served most of its 231 staff members with a termination letter. Everyone will be losing their job with only a handful of staff remaining with the airline for a couple of weeks to finish work that is pending work. All of the other staff members’ contracts have been terminated with immediate effect. This is a devastating blow to more than 200 families who will be losing that monthly income. We can only hope that a new airline will step into the market to fill the void that Air Uganda will be leaving behind.

  • 23 Jun 2014. Air Uganda's international flights have been suspended after they failed to adhere to Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) standard procedures especially regarding safety, this is according to a statement issued by CAA. Air Uganda's Marketing Executive Ms Jackie Tumuhairwe is however blaming CAA for this suspension because according to her Air Uganda has complied with all set standers and procedures that has been set out by the CAA. All passengers will be booked on various other international carriers that will take them to their destinations. Whoever's fault it may be one can be sure that Air Uganda will be losing the most from this suspension as revenue will be flying out of the door every day that their fleet stays grounded.

  • 8 Apr 2013. Cornwell Muleya is appointed Chief Executive of Air Uganda. Muleya has previously worked for Air Botswana, Air Mauritius, Air Tanzania & Zambezi Airlines. “I am especially impressed with the quality of the Air Uganda product and will work to ensure the airline continues to delight its customers and becomes a household name not only in Uganda, but in East Africa and beyond.” said Muleya

  • 2012 Kyle Haywood resigns as Chief Executive of Air Uganda to go work at FastJet.

  • 15 Nov 2007. Air Uganda begins commercial flight operations.
