Climate of the Northern Cape

The Northern Cape province is predominantly a semi-arid area with only a little rainfall in the summer (the exception being a little strip of winter-rainfall area along the coast).

The weather conditions fluctuate from one extremity (very high temperatures in summer) to the other (cold and frosty in winter).

Sutherland is the coldest town in South Africa.
