Bushbuck (Tragelaphus scriptus) in the Kruger National Park

The shy & elusive bushbuck relies on the bush for camoflauge & cover. It can be found in most of sub-Saharan Africa. The bushbuck is an excellent jumper.

The bushbuck is one of the only antelope in Africa that will charge when provoked.

The bushbuck has a narrow and rounded form. The bushbuck has a hazel to chestnut to dark brown coat. The pattern on its coat is varied up to 7 thin vertical white stripes and spots. Generally, the bushbuck found in deeper forest have darker coats.
