Jun 2014	SA Roadlink closes all their offices across the country and stops bus operations.
3 Jun 2012	SA Roadlink security attempts to prevent the Rapport from taking photographs (they wanted to record the Commerce Ministry visiting their offices in City Deep).
16 May 2012	At 04h45, give out of 28 passengers are killed when an SA Roadlink bus overturns on the N1, about 30km from the Gariep Dam on the way to Springfontein. The drive had apparently swerved to dodge a wild animal. Two passengers were taken to a hospital in Bloemfontein after being freed from the wreckage.
22 Mar 2010	An SA Roadlink bus catches fire on the N3 national road between Pietermaritzburg and Mooi River. “The driver noticed smoke billowing from the vehicle. He pulled it to the road side and all the passengers and the two crew members managed to get off. The driver then tried to use the bus’ fire extinguisher to douse the flames and was unsuccessful. The entire bus was then engulfed in flames.” said Jeffrey Wicks of Netcare 911. All passengers lost their luggage.
2 Jan 2010	SA Roadlink bus driver is arrested for drunk driving in Worcester, whilst driving a bus with 72 passengers to Johannesburg. His blood alcohol level allegedly exceeded the legal limit by nearly ten times.
14 Dec 2009	In a freak accident, Pietermaritzburg business manager Brian Govender, 39, is killed on the N3 near Midmar Dam when he is hit on the head by a flap of the bus's luggage compartment. The SA Roadlink bus was parked on the side of the freeway after it stalled. Thereafter Govender and other passengers started to offload luggage from the luggage compartment. Whilst Govender was bending down to pick up a bag a passing truck hit the flap of the luggage compartment which hit Govender on the head, killing him instantly (of head trauma).
7 Jul 2009	An SA Roadlink bus on its way from Johannesburg to Cape Town crashes 6km outside Beaufort West killing 7 people including a 7-year-old-child.
6 Jun 2009	A 45-year-old SA Roadlink Pietermaritzburg branch supervisor was meant to bank R18,000 for the company; but on the way made a pit-stop at the Golden Horse Casino, where he lost R18,755. His next step was to concoct a story, telling the police he had been robbed. Police became suspicious when closed circuit television footage didn't show the robbery occuring, and they later discovered he'd made a visit to the casino. He was released on bail from the Pietermaritzburg Magistrate’s Court, and is due in court again on the 7th July.
6 Mar 2009	An SA Roadlink catches alight due to an electrical fault whilst travelling through the Umkomaas Valley (KwaZulu-Natal), and burnt to a shell. Nobody was hurt.
19 Dec 2008	KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Transport, Bheki Cele, attempted to withdraw SA Roadlink's licence in KwaZulu-Natal from midnight on the 19th Dec 2008, pending the outcome of the investigation into their accident on the 16th Dec 2008. However, on 19th Dec 2008 SA Roadlink obtained a temporary court order preventing Cele from suspending their operating licence. Then on the 23rd December 2008, SA Roadlink received a fax from Cele's lawyers, stating his intention to withdraw the case with full costs.
17 Dec 2008	SA Roadlink appoints forensic experts to investigate crash (Press Release).
16 Dec 2008	An SA Roadlink bus & a Toyota Camry have a head-on collission in KwaZulu-Natal near Hibberdene, 11 people die.
12 Dec 2008	A letter is written by Intercape to the authorities, arguing that Road Link Passenger Services (Pty) Ltd is illegally transporting passengers between Pretoria and Cape Town via Upington, as their licence was suspended on 7 Jul 2008.
11 Dec 2008	Some 75 people are injured (14 seriously and the SA Roadlink bus driver is critically injured) when a fully loaded double-decker SA Roadlink bus collided with a private bus (signed Ebhodwe Transport) at Lions River on the N3 national road in the KwaZulu-Natal midlands. Paramedics used the jaws of life to rescue the trapped SA Roadlink bus driver. The driver was taken to St Anne's Hospital in Pietermaritzburg. After hitting the private bus, it in turn hit into another car and a bakkie.
12 Jul 2008	In the wake of the accidents SA Roadlink have been involved in, they released "Six key safety standards: 1. All coaches are checked for roadworthiness before each trip. To facilitate this, SA Roadlink has a team of in-house fleet managers to carry out roadworthiness checks. Most coach companies currently only check their coaches every 20000 km’s. 2. Each coach driver’s time at the wheel is limited to 48 hours per week, with mandatory 12 hour rest periods between drives. 3. All drivers undergo mandatory checks before employment with SA Roadlink and further tests every three months. 4. Tests are carried out for eyesight, illegal drug and alcohol use, and other ailments that might impair a driver in any way. All drivers will also be provided with medical aid, another industry first. 5. All drivers are to pass through the leading advanced coach driver academy – Gerotek. 6. Each coach undergoes mandatory brake testing before each trip. SA Roadlink has purchased a state-of-the-art brake testing machine from Germany. This machine is stationed at SA Roadlink’s Centurion depot. “We realise that our reputation for safety and service excellence can be destroyed in an instant. Therefore, every employee is personally responsible on every level to be the best SA Roadlink ambassador that they can be."
28 Jun 2008	An SA Roadlink bus ended up on its side just off the road, after swerving to miss a car and a bakkie which had smashed into each other in a head-on collission on the R59 road between Vereeniging and Johannesburg.
3 Jun 2008	Durban - SA Roadlink bus crashes on the N3 in Paradise Valley, injuring over 50 people. The bus driver is suspected to have fallen asleep.
26 Nov 2007	An SA Roadlink bus and a bakkie crash on the N2 near Plettenberg Bay. Three people die.
24 Dec 2006	Twelve people (including 3 children) die and 34 are injured when an SA Roadlink bus crashes into a bridge, at 0421am, on the N3 national road in Pietermaritzburg (KwaZulu-Natal). The bridge they crashed into was opposite the Liberty Midlands Mall. The bus driver, Charles William Vaudin, said that the right rear tyre of had burst, causing him to lose control of the bus. People who died in the accident were Antoinette, 22, and Krystle Storck 14; Samkele Lutshaba, 20; Anna, 32, and Nomhlekaba, 8, Ndaba; Lungile Hlomoka, 22; Samkele Mathonsi, 4; Sifiso Nzuza, 24; Bongi Cele, 47; Thokozani Dimba, 34; Isobel Swartz, 60 and Dafney Twala, 34.
