The Intercity Xpress Bus is a privately owned South African coach company with routes inbetween Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natall. They also offer intercontinental connections to Zimbabwe.
Intercity started 10 years ago when they acquired Luxliner coaches and started offering travel solutions at affordable prices. Today they transport more than 680 000 passengers per year in 65 coaches across various routes in South Africa and Zimbabwe. Their sister company is Eagle Liner.

From 13 Dec 2017 to 11 Jan 2018 Intercity Xpress provides a "reward" for each ticket booked, with rewards ranging from sports tickets to shopping vouchers.
Lesser discounts will be given during peak travel periods and more discount will be given during off-peak season.
5% or 10% Pensioners Discount: If you're able to produce a pensioners card or valid ID proving you are a pentioner, you qualify for the discount.
15% or 20% Children Discount: Children between 3 and 11 years old qualify for this discount, but they must be accompanied by an adult. Children under 3 years old, not occupying a seat can travel for free.
5% or 10% National Security Discount: Members of the SAPD or SANDF qualify for a discount when they produce their force cards.
5% or 10% Student Discount: Students qualify for a discount when they produce their student cards.
5% or 10% Scholars Discount: Learners qualify for a discount during their school years.
Mahala Travellers Club: Members of the club qualify for a 50% on their next Intercity Xpress bus ticket if they travel more than 10 times during a 12 month period.
InterCity offers discount for group bookings when there is more than 10 passengers.

Travelling with children:
Please bear in mind that Regulation 6 of the new Immigration Act came into effect on the 1st of June 2015. All children leaving or entering South Africa will need to provide the valid documentation as mentioned in the act, including an unabridged birth certificate.
Unaccompanied children:
No child under the age of 12 years old will be allowed to travel on his own on Intercity Busses.
Children between 13 and 18 years will be allowed to travel alone, provided that they have notified the coach company and abide by all their rules.
