Other South African events venues competing against Rovos Rail's events train are The Twelve Apostles Terrace at the top of Table Mountain and Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden.

Events
Events can take place on the train whilst:
- it circles around Pretoria over a 3 hour period (with lunch or supper).
- goes to a destination which is within 8 hours of Pretoria (e.g. the Magaliesburg, Naboomspruit or Dullstroom)
Weddings on Rovos Rail
Guests are greeted at Rovos Rail's Pretoria Station with drinks and then the bride makes her entrance in a steam train. After the ceremeny at Pretoria Station; guests enjoy dnngi on the train as it does a circular trip around Pretoria.
Weddings Schedule
- 09:30/16:30 Sparkling wine welcome for guests. A string duet can provide background music during the reception and for the bride’s arrival (e.g., Felix Mendelssohn’s “Wedding March”).
- 9:55/16:55 Bride arrives in the cab of a steam locomotive
- 10:00/17:00 Wedding Ceremony: We invite couples to utilise the expansive station lounge for their wedding ceremony at no additional cost, with the freedom to style it as desired. We recommend engaging a wedding planner for a seamless experience. Site visits are encouraged.
- 10:45/17:45 Register signing
- 11:00/18:00 Photography session with light canapés and limited bar for guests. The locomotive will remain idling on the platform for photo opportunities before departing to retrieve the train.
- 11:45/18:45 We suggest holding speeches and toasts at this time, as guests are gathered in one area and the platform/lounge is calm.
- 12:15/19:15 Board train for a circular journey around Pretoria*
- 15:30/22:30 Return to station, disembark, and enjoy a limited bar on the platform
- 16:30/23:30 Limited bar service concludes
- 17:00/24:00 Guests depart
