Mango Airlines Flight SpecialIf something happens twice in a row it's a coincidence, 3 times and it's a trend. I think we can definitely say that the Mango Airlines flight specials have shifted to Wednesday, as this makes it 3 in a row - (watch them prove us wrong next week!). The special runs from 9am on the 26th February 2014 until 9pm, or until the limited seats on sale runs out, whichever occurs first. It's interesting that they've shortened the timeframe for the special - usually it's over 36 hours, but this time it's over only 12 hours. The travel dates are on a very limited number of days up to the 31st March 2014. Best 1- way faresEnoough chit-chat, what you've come for is to see the airfares for the happy day sale. *Note that these airfares may have changed from the below, as a result of the limited number on offer, or as a result of us making a mistake (yes, we're fallible!). It's a generalisation, but it seems like the high fuel prices and weak Rand's impact on USD denominated maintenance costs have elevated fares to a slightly higher level. Here is what Mango Airlines had to offer:
Our pick of the week is the Bloemfontein to Cape Town fare of R835*. Book at Mango. And that's a wrap. We look forward to bringing you the next Mango special, probably next Wednesday...but you never know. Click here to read more about Mango Airlines. |

You gotta be in it to win it - have you entered the win a Mango flight competition? Rating 5/5 : Would like to take the opportunity to thank all MANGO Staff for excellent service with my Gran’s recent visit from Cape Town to Bloemfontein. My Gran is 87 years old and lives in Cape Town. Although still very active at her age, she is not very fond of traveling as she struggles with feeling dependent on the help of others. Though we would all love to go and visit her in Cape Town, more often it is simply not always possible with navigating school and work commitments. With much effort we convinced her to come and visit us for the Christmas holidays in December 2013, and then to stay for some time. As soon as she agreed I purchased return air tickets between Cape Town and Bloemfontein from Mango Airlines at, I must add, VERY affordable rates. I explained to the lady that helped me that my Gran was an elderly lady and that she might need some help with carrying her luggage and comforted me as she assured me that I needn’t worry as they would take care of my precious Gran and her safety. Gran arrived in Bloem from Cape Town on the 15th of December and was escorted from the airplane with a wheelchair to where we were waiting for her in the waiting area. As she arrived she was smiling from ear to ear and was so extremely happy to see all her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. The friendly staff at Mango Airlines delivered her by wheelchair from the airplane to the airport and then to the car, they also took care of all of her luggage and treated her like a Queen both on and off of the plane treating her with dignity and respect all the way. Gran actually enjoyed her flight so much, I think you made her feel even MORE independent! She returned with Mango from Bloemfontein to Cape Town on the 9th of February 2014 and experienced the same Mango-magnificent-moments as she did with her flight here. Thank you so much for the friendliness, courtesy, and professionalism shown by all Mango Staff Gran encountered, I am sure we would see much more of our beloved Gran in 2014 thanks to YOU! No words can describe how thankful we are for you taking so much care of one of our most loved ones! Many Blessings, Vanessa |

The bottom line: SAA Relaunching Durban to Cape Town Flights : After a more than 3 year hiatus, South African Airways are considering relaunching their flights from Durban to Cape Town. It caught the entire market by surprise when the stopped flying the route in November 2010. Times are tough in the airline industry. Thai Airways has reported a 12bn Thai Baht loss in their 2013 financial year, citing the strength of the local currency. |
