FlySafair Launches New Routes | DUR - ELS & DUR - PLZ
South Africa's True Low Cost carrier finally announced the new routes they are launching following public voting on their website. From the 27th of November 2017, FlySafair will operate flights between Durban and East London and between Durban and Port Port Elizabeth. This is just in time for the summer holiday! Flights are already available to book.
As we mentioned, flights can already be booked on these routes for travel from the 27th of Nov and onwards. Flights between Durban and Port Elizabeth start from R729* and flights between Durban and East London start from R729* on South Africa Travel Online.
The flight schedules:

Durban - East London FA 442 11h20 - 12h35 on Saturdays
East London - Durban FA 441 11h30 - 12h45 on Sundays - Fridays
East London - Durban FA 43 13h00 - 14h15 on Saturdays
Durban - Port Elizabeth FA 421 13h25 - 14h45 on Sundays - Fridays
Durban - Port Elizabeth FA 423 14h55 - 16h15 on Saturdays
Port Elizabeth - Durban FA 422 15h10 - 16h30 on Sundays - Fridays
Port Elizabeth - Durban FA 424 16h40 - 18h00 on Saturdays
Other voting options included Nelspruit - Cape Town, Durban - George, Cape Town - Bloemfontein, Lanseria - Bloemfontein and Lanseria to Cape Town. Despite the fact that the Nelspruit - Cape Town route received the most votes, the airline has decided to forgo launching it in favour of the routes that came in second and third place. Head of Sales and Distribution, Kirby Gordon, explains their decision. “Public appetite for a new route is naturally a massive consideration factor, but there are some other important factors that have to fall into place including utilisation of aircraft and crew, and slot compliance,” he said. Among these considerations are the efficiency, whether airline staff scheduling would work out and whether they would be able to fill enough seats.
The airline hasn't ruled out launching the winning route some time in the future, but they are currently focusing on the Durban flights. “The interest in the Cape Town to Nelspruit route is very encouraging and we’ll certainly keep looking into that one too,” Kirby added. We look forward to many new routes from South Africa's most on-time airline.

"On the 14/9/2015 my husband and me travelled from Cape Town International Airport to Port Elizabeth for the first time. We did not know what to expect and were excited at the same time. We flew with FlySafair and the journey was awesome. We were very emotional as it was a dream come true. The flight attendants were proffesional we even managed to take photos while we were still allowed to. We did not mind what others may say, we were just happy! We are soooo looking forward to the return flight home. I will give them a 100% as service was up to standard every step of the way. FlySafair you are the best!"Nomakwayi Ntyutyana
