Zimbabwean national airline Air Zimbabwe can now resume international flights on all their routes. The airline has passed the IOSA safety audit and has received their re-registration certification from IOSA after being de-registered in September 2012.

It is Mango Happy Day Sale time again!
Mango Happy Day Sale has started once again. The sale takes place from 09h00 today, 10 June 2014, the sale runs until 9pm on the 11th of June 2014. The travel period for this sale is on selected flights from the 10th of June 2014 until the 30th of July 2014. This is the first Happy Day Sale in two weeks as Mango ran a R1 (excluding taxes) flights special last week. The flights are a little more expensive than the Happy Day sale from two weeks ago but that is to be expected. Flight prices dropped quite dramatically in middle May after the high prices of April. The prices in April was higher because of the Easter Weekend and all of the other public holidays when people tend to travel including school holidays. Flights in late June also tend to be a little more expensive as school and university holidays traditionally start at the end of June which pushes up demand for flights and in turn pushes up flight prices. Travellers should book flights sooner rather than later to avoid paying high flight prices. Pick of the week is the Bloem to Cape Town flight for R875.00*, very competitive price!

With family living on the Natal north coast, I have made frequent use of SA Express' thrice weekly direct flights between Harare and Durban.
I prefer this route as going through OR Tambo from International to domestic always adds a few extra hours on this journey. Furthermore the flights departing in the late afternoon from OR Tambo are frequently late. Nothing can beat the journey being done in two hours. Their in cabin service and crew are friendly and efficient. Clearing customs and immigration at King Shaka is a pleasure. Well done SA Express! -
