Last night I was watching Carte Blanche's show on laptops stolen from rental cars at airports, and I was impressed at how it seems that policing has improved. A few years ago, I hired a car from Avis in Durban, my laptop was stolen, and I would have complained about the Durban police's effort except that it was non-existent - I gave the license number of the getaway vehicle & the excuse for a police-force still couldn't catch the perpetrator.
