Tragedy struck when a field guide, working for Makweti Safari Lodge, was killed by an elephant on the 5th November.
The Purple shall rule! "I travelled on flight MN118 from Cape Town to O R Tambo on Sunday morning 6 November 2011. When we got off the plane at O R, I was simply horrified to witness the TOTAL LACK of care taken by WORKERS to unload the luggage. Bags and suitcases were thrown onto the luggage van over a distance of at least two (2) meters, showing no respect for either the value of the luggage containers nor their contents. My wife bought a nice plastic bowl with a lid which she carefully secured in the middle of her suitcase with clothing packed in and all around it... the mindless LUNATIC who unloaded the luggage managed TO BREAK IT INTO PIECES! We have watched the unloading of luggage at Lanceria, where this task is performed by a team of six people who handle the luggage with care and respect. So guess what.. I will avoid O R Tambo airport in the future like the plague and advise everybody who intends to air travel to do the same.
