Tempest Car Hire Rules the roost this week (courtesy of Avis who raised their price from R329 to R334), with a weekend's car hire going for R331. This is the first time that Tempest have been cheapest since our 24th May 2008 survey (and then also with R331 - car rental prices are pretty static in South Africa).

To the top of Table Mountain
DaveB decided to take the cable car up Table Mountain despite the cost, because of the tourist muggings on the way up and the lack of enthusiam at the thought of slogging his way uphill. He took some stunning photos, and held himself back from abseiling off the top.
