Avis vs Hertz - battle to the bottom
9 August 2007. We've written previously about the fact that Avis Johannesburg's ineptitude endangers babies' lives, and given recent experiences with Hertz, we decided to carry out a comparison of Hertz Johannesburg and Avis Johannesburg Airport to see who's the biggest loser.

We conclude that, Avis Johannesburg and Hertz Johannesburg are pretty much equally inept at arranging car babyseats; Hertz Johannesburg wouldn't set up the car babyseat as they didn't know how - considering that they are in the car rental business this is surprising. On the other hand, Avis did try install the car babyseat even though they also didn't know how - this is slightly worse, as it leaves one under the false impression that your baby is safe.
