A 50-year-old South Africa citizen, Julia Nyandane, is caught allegedly trying to smuggle heroin out of India to South Africa. She was due to board Ethiopian Airlines flight, ET 611, from Mumbai to Johannesburg via Addis Ababa, but was stopped by India's Air Intelligence Unit and found with almost 7kg heroin concealed in a false suitcase bottom, 3 pairs of shoe heels and the lining of 4 newly purchased handbags. Air Intelligence Unit officials said that Nyandane had come to Mumbai from Delhi. In 2009 she had visited India 4 times. |
