Reward the kids with a trip to the coast after a hard year of school work and take them to the Umhlanga Summer Carnival. The carnival will be held over 14 days and will feature loads of fun filled beach activites for the whole family. Visitors to Umhlanga Rocks can expect to be involved in surfing competitions, beach games, sailing competitions, trail runs, carol singing and a street party.
Johannesburg to Durban prices
We compared the prices of travel for the first weekend of the South African year end school holidays. We found Mango to offer the cheapest flights on the Friday evening, with a one way flight to Durban at R804 per person when we checked (prices will change). The bus prices have shown a slight increase since the last survey done on this route due to the start of the school holidays. The cheapest rate we found was R200 per person for a one way bus trip with City to City (the prices will change). Car Trawler is cheapest for car rental in Durban
We compared the prices of car rental at Durban Airport from 21h00 on Friday the 6th of December 2013 until 13h00 on Sunday the 8th of December 2013. Car Trawler offered the cheapest option that we found with a Citroen C1 or similar offered at R425 for the weekend, with 200 kilometres a day included. Please note that prices will change.
